Configure the LAA Salary Policy in Sequence ERP
Left menu > Human Resources > Salary policy
In Switzerland, the LAA (Federal Accident Insurance Act) governs mandatory accident insurance for employees. It covers in particular: occupational accidents, non-occupational accidents (depending on the workload), and occupational diseases.
Every employer is required to insure their employees with a recognized LAA insurer (SUVA or an approved private insurer).
1. To complete the LAA salary policy, click on Human Resources in the left-hand side menu.

2. From the displayed options, select Salary Policy.

3. Go to the LAA tab.

4. Select the reference year.

5. Create the group to which the LAA policy applies. This allows you to apply specific rules to a set of employees or entities, depending on your organization.

6. Enter the group name and click Confirm.

7. If your company uses electronic transmission via Swissdec, enable the option Electronic Salary Declaration (ELM). This allows the automatic exchange of payroll data with social insurance institutions.

8. Legislation provides for a cap on the LAA insured salary of CHF 148,200 per year and CHF 12,350 per month. Above this amount, the salary is no longer subject to mandatory LAA contributions. Sequence ERP automatically integrates this cap into the calculation.

9. Then enter the information related to your LAA insurer: Name, number, and UID-BFS of the fund/insurer, Customer number, Contract number, and Contract validity date.

10. You can upload the LAA insurance contract (PDF or image) directly into Sequence ERP.

11. Define the LAA insurance solutions. A company may have several LAA solutions depending on staff categories, types of activities, and risk levels. In the LAA Solutions section, you can add one or more solutions.

12. For each LAA solution, specify: the insurance solution number, the LAA code (according to the insurer’s classification), the occupational accident rate (employer), and the non-occupational accident rate.

13. As a general rule: occupational accidents are borne by the employer, and non-occupational accidents are borne by the employee (if the working time exceeds 8 hours per week).

13. Finally, click Save changes.

Once the LAA salary policy has been completed, along with all other policies, you will be able to specify which groups apply to each of your employees, so that the corresponding contributions are correctly applied in their contracts.
