Sequence > Left Navigation Bar > Accounting periods
Sequence automatically closes an accounting period and creates a new one at the end of the fiscal year.
You can continue adding accounting entries to a closed period and recalculate it, but if you want to lock the period so that no new entries can be added, you must do it manually.
How to Recalculate or Lock an Accounting Period in Sequence:
- Click on "Accounting."
- Then, click on "Accounting Periods."
- If you have added new accounting entries to a closed period, you will need to recalculate the closing balance by clicking "Recalculate Period Closing."
- If you want to lock the period so that no accounting entries can be added, click "Lock Period."
Warning: This action is irreversible. To undo it, you will need to contact Sequence. - Click "Confirm" to finalize the locking process.
- The accounting period is now locked and can only be reversed by Sequence.
